It immediately tried to access the internet, but Zone Alarm prevented it. However, a program called Bytefence was installed without my knowledge or permission. The foistware programs were not installed. I disabled the checkboxes and proceeded with the install. When I booted the install file, a foistware screen appeared with several options pre-enabled. Since I have used FF for years with no problems, I thought it was some kind of false positive, so I accessed the site through Majorgeeks. I have been using Format Factory for years, and I wanted to install the latest version, but Firefox 65.0.2 threw up a blocking screen with a warning that this site installs software that might damage my computer and would not transfer me. Format factory, the popular file conversion utility download, has gone bad.
